An easy mulled wine recipe for the festive season, brimming with Christmassy spice and a kick of damson gin.
Serves 6
All you need is:
Lamb Brand Demerara Sugar 60g
Lamb Brand Cinnamon Stick 1
Lamb Brand Dried Bay Leaf 1
Lamb Brand Nutmeg, grated
Bottle Red Wine 1
Orange 1, halved
Damson Gin 60ml (optional)
All you have to do is:
1. Put the wine in a saucepan with the orange, sugar, bayleaf and the spices.
2. Heat gently until the sugar has dissolved. Taste to see if you want the wine sweeter, and add more sugar to taste.
3. Turn off the heat, stir in the damson gin if you are using it.
4. Strain into heatproof glasses and serve at once.
